PDC Hole Openers

The Vermeer-designed and manufactured line of PDC (polycrystalline diamond compact) hole openers bring performance and reliability to consolidated rock bores.

From a standard 2.875-in (2 7/8”) API box x box body, contractors can interchange wing sets for cutting diameters of 200 mm, 250 mm and 300 mm. With the ability to change sizes, users can maximize their investment in the single body. And in the event of wing damage, a single replacement wing can be purchased and installed in the field, rather than taking the tool out of service for an extended repair period.

• Vermeer has sourced premium PDC inserts. In an independent test, these inserts showed better wear characteristics than the inserts commonly found in PDC pilot bits.
• Carbide buttons span the profile of the cutter to assist stabilization and extend wear life.
• The hardfaced shaft helps reduce hourglass-style wear common in rock applications.
• Designed with 25 threaded fluid nozzles with 10 optional plugs for customizable drilling fluid management.
• Standard with welded on rotary backout cutters.
